8 companies in all ring up PV sales breaking the \200 billion level, supplying a total of
940MW
With 243MW for industrial use and 70MW for residential use, with Xsol and Takashimaya head the list
There are 8 major distributors nationwide whose business chiefly promotes the spreading in PV use. Their total sales for 2013 broke the \200 billion level, supplying a total of 940MW, up by 74% over the previous year. This accounts for 13% of the total of 7GW delivered in Japan in 2013, according to data put out by the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry. PV sales for residential use amounted to 296MW, remaining flat, but for industrial use the figure was 644MV, up by 170% over the previous year, a major force pulling along PV sales. There are the 3 major firms, these being Exsol moving ahead as a PV specialist, West Holdings, which handles the PPS business, and Takashima with an aura of being a giant in the market for residential use. In addition there are the 2 major trading companies Yamazen Shoji and Yuasa Shoji, Shinko Matai which has formed a strong partnership with the major energy trading company Suzuyo Shoji, and SEM Daikin which has the old and well established sales agency association Shinseiki.
