In the New Strategic Energy Plan announced by the Japanese government in April of last year, the target was given for attaining the Net Zero Energy House (ZEH) standard for newly constructed standard homes by 2020 and for all new homes by 2030. It goes without saying that what will determine whether or not this can be brought about for all new homes are the housing construction companies handling the construction of homes. What exactly would be the ideal ZEH model drawn up by the housing construction companies? We put together a compilation of the outlook of the three major housing construction companies, Sekisui House, Misawa Home, and Daiwa House.
