The handling of product quality and warrantees of the 15 major PV companies

The second spring has come since the introduction of the FIT system. Companies, be they Japanese or foreign have just entered the market based on this system. They range from EPC companies and funds down to brokers. While they are contributing to the expansion of the PV market, handling the bringing in of systems to the generation of power. Amidst this, instances have been heard of problems arising among manufacturers, agencies, and users due to misunderstandings regarding warrantees.

Solvisto therefore explained its project to organizations which authorize PV systems, and companies related to technology, including the Advanced Industrial and Science Technology (AIST) research center. These then indicated areas which the users did not fully understand regarding the handling in depth on the part of the manufacturers. Solvisto sent out a questionnaire regarding quality and the monitoring setup to companies entering the Japanese market, This brought forth responses from15 companies which consider themselves as being the major ones in Japan.
